This fitness stick is similar in principle to the “Bodyblade,” which has been around for more than a decade. To learn detailed information about how this product actually works and why, I recommend you google for bodyblade… it is a good primer.
On the recommendation of my physical therapist, I bought the bodyblade to help with a rotatorcuff injury, and have since found it a fun and INCREDIBLY good way to work out “weak” muscles. If you are right handed, doing the bodyform with your right hand is easy; doing it with your left hand will be frustratingly awkward — because those “little muscles” that we rarely use just don’t get the workout. This is why the bodyform is a good idea.
You probably won’t lose weight with this product — it isn’t meant for that. But you will get a lot of tone and strength on some muscles that you don’t use much.
I bought this bodyform for travel; my bodyblade is too long to fit in my suitcase and I saw this stick at Brookstone as I walked past the storefront and bought it on impulse. So far, it is a good quick comfortable substitute for the bodyblade. Most folks won’t be able to use it for more than 30 – 45 seconds at a time; perfect for “commercial breaks”. The grip is round and of soft foam, which makes it slightly more comfortable than the blade. However, the short length and weighted ends help the user “cheat” a little. I think that the Bodyblade is “better” — I have to concentrate more on the blade — but maybe it only counts in recovering from injuries. Even after using the bodyblade, the fitness stick give a good “burn” on those little muscles quickly. I’ll be packing it with me in my suitcase for business trips.
Recommend you get this product for only $15; if you like it, eventually you will probably want to “move up” to the bodyblade.
