I liked the ball and have been using it almost daily since I purchased it in early July, today the ball started to make a whining sound and 10 seconds later I was flat on the floor and the ball had an 18″ split down the side perpendicular to the bands. I wish I still had the box, I’d contact the manufacturer.

I cannot comment on the exercise ball yet, but the pump that comes with it is horrible. I have just finished trying to pump this thing up; the ball cannot be inflated with an air compressor as it has no valve stem of any sort. It just has a hole in the ball which you stick the conical tip of the “balloon pump” into and pump away (when finished you stick a piece of plastic into the hole to keep air from coming out). The instructions say to inflate the ball until it is 80 inches in diameter. The problem is, once the ball starts to be about 70 inches in diameter the pump leaks air out almost as fast as it pumps air in, and there is no place in the pump piston cycle where it doesn’t leak. So you just have to keep pumping like mad, making little progress. Of course, when you stop to see if you got it inflated enough yet, you lose air as you must pull the pump out and stick the plastic piece in place or else it leaks all while you check the diameter.
This is a very cheap design for a relatively expensive exercise ball.

I’ve had the ball inflated for nearly a year. It took me about eleven months of staring at it before I started using it. I use it mainly as a chair in my TV room. I’ve also began using it while doing some resistance training.
I’ve seen reviews for this ball on other sites and people complain about the fact that it has sand in it to keep it from rolling around which makes it heavier than other balls. For me it’s not an issue but I haven’t done exercises requiring me to lift the ball.
The pump that comes with it isn’t the greatest and it does smell strongly for a while. Overall, I am very satisfied.
